2014 Roar Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir

According to the winery: "Grapes for our 2014 Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir were harvested September 3-30th at 25.5 - 28.4 brix. The juice spent an average of 28 days on the skins before being pressed to French oak barrels for 10 months aging. The wine was racked once, and bottled unfiltered and unfined in July 2015. Our 2014 Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir comes out of the gates with a creamy, lifted fruit nose threaded with coffee and black licorice and supported by a base of forest and earth. The palate blends a range of fruit - from black cherry and blackberry to hints of boysenberry - with savory smoked meats and forest floor. As it opens up, creamy vanilla bean and lifted evergreen make their appearance, and dense cassis joins the fruit profile - a rich complement to the structured, drawn-out finish."
