A subtle but not invisible touch of wood sets off the pretty and fresh aromas of various orchard fruits, and in particular white peach and pear. There is fine volume for a wine at this level to the round and seductively textured flavors where a hint of citrus adds a bit of lift to the acceptably complex and persistent finale.

Warm and leesy, this has the textural weight and body of a Rhône wine and some musky green flavors. Serve it well chilled with boudin blanc.

This is a ripe and soft wine with pure apple and citrus fruit. It is crisp, juicy and bright with acidity and tangy orange zest flavors. The wine is ready to drink. (RV)

An opulent, mouthfilling white, offering apple and lemon cake flavors and accents of honey and flowers. Firms up, with a chalky feel on the finish. (BS)

Notes

Olivier Leflaive primarily makes Les Sétilles from vineyards at the foot of the slope in Chassagne-Montrachet and Meursault with an average vine age of 40 years. Grapes are carefully sorted in the cellar and typically more than two-thirds of the harvest is aged in barrel (around 10% new) with the balance of the wine aged in tanks. The result is a white Burgundy that showcases freshness, texture and a purity of mineral and terroir without the undue mark of heavy new wood.
