2013 Jacques Bavard Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Embrazées"

This comes from a vineyard that is part of the better-known Chassagne Montrachet Morgeot 1er Cru. It has fairly rich clay soils, so Jacques planted grass between the rows to compete with the vines and reduce their vigor and yield by natural means. It's a terrific value for a 1er Cru Chassagne, thanks to our direct import program. From a tiny negociant producer in Puligny-Montrachet that we found by chance during a buying trip in Burgundy, and have been carrying since the 2008 vintage.
