1996 Glen Keith 19 Year Old Exclusive Malts Single Cask Single Malt Whisky (750ml)

The rare Glen Keith distillery was mothballed for over a decade before being reopened in 2013. Her sister distillery Strathisla sits only a few hundred feet away and the two used to distill in tandem until Keith's closure in 1999. While Strathisla was always the backbone of the popular Chivas Bros blends, Keith became a sort of Whisky Laboratory for the blenders. Experimentation included the use of peat infused water, various numbers of distillation, and other oddball techniques. Glen Keith is also known for a traditional peated malted marketed by Signatory under the label Glen Isla. Here, we have classic Speyside still Keith with a soft fruit forward style highlighting the quality of the spirits thanks to the refill hogshead in which it was matured.
