Reviewed January 2015There is a top note of herbal tea to the complex and very ripe aromas of humus, earth and red and dark berry fruit scents. The delicious and relatively suave middle weight flavors display a hint of minerality on the slightly warm finish where the warmth is enough to detract somewhat from the sense of vivacity. While by no means a poor wine I would suggest serving this a bit cooler than normal. (AM)

A wine of ultimate purity and elegance. Super fresh, crunchy berries, clove, nutmeg, hints of more exotic Asian spice with air. The wine is supple, and vibrant on the palate. It has that "cool" mouth feel and remarkable concentration given it's fairly light extraction. This wine has all the hallmarks of super cool climate Pinot that I love without coming off under-ripe in anyway. It is beautifully polished without being over worked. Classy wine, and a great value for Red Burgundy in my opinion.

If you like your Pinot Noir full of earthy, savory structure, but like them even better when they have texture and complexity to go with it, this Domaine Pierre Gelin Fixin is for you. The 2012 vintage has given us the "gras" to fill out the excellent bones of this fantastic Pinot Noir. This wine will make an excellent partner to leg of lamb.
