An equally pretty and much spicier if more restrained nose precedes rich, round and plump middle weight flavors that possess good mid-palate fat that buffers the moderately firm mineral-driven finish that delivers excellent length.

Candied nose rather than transports of delight. Racy and finely etched. Very positive and clean and fresh. The fruit, the whole fruit and nothing but the fruit. Great balance on the palate.

91-93 points Neal Martin: "This has great definition on the nose, very minerally and to be honest, occupying a different class to Groffier’s other 2008s. That is terroir for you. The palate is medium-bodied, firm tannins, grippy and pure, a lot of oak on the finish but there is also a lot of minerality coming through. Primal and brutish at the moment, this will require some serious ageing." (Wine Journal, 03/2010)
