2013 Cantina di Gallura "Canayli" Vermentino di Gallura

This is always one of the most popular Italian whites at K&L. Gallura is a peninsula on the northeast corner of the island of Sardinia that specializes in Vermentino (the grape is also grown on the coast of mainland Italy, on Corsica, and in the south of France under the name Rolle). Made entirely from Vermentino, The granitic soils force the vines to struggle to survive, but that struggle (like so many) gives the wine its character. The 2013 is dry and full, with lots of white fruit, a touch of green pepper and a salty minerality that makes this a natural pairing with seafood. Don't miss!
