2007 Hughes Family Sonoma Mountain 'Wild Turkey Vineyard' Zinfandel

Hughes Family Vineyards is a small family-run certified organic vineyard and winery located in the foothills above Glen Ellen where the Sonoma Valley, Sonoma Mountain and Bennett Valley appellations meet. They have followed sustainable farming and winemaking practices since their vineyards were first planted, without the use of any synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides or pesticides. Only 325 cases of their 2007 Wild Turkey Vineyard Zinfandel were produced, from this site which sits at an elevation of 825 and is a designated California Certified Organic Farm. It highlights the mineral character imparted by these hillside soils, along with classic Sonoma Mountain red fruit and briary aromas and flavors, with spicy undertones and bright acidity.
