Reviewed June 2008Good full red-ruby. Dark plum, graphite and spicy oak on the nose. Juicy, spicy flavors of redcurrant, plum, bitter cherry and tobacco. Finishes a bit clipped, with slightly hard-edged acidity and a repeating flavor of bitter cherry.
Notes
The Miner Family's Oakville Cab comes mostly from Oakville Ranch, though there's a small proportion of fruit from the Busceli Vineyard in Napa's Eastern Hills. Aged for 21 months in 60% new French oak, the wine is loaded with black fruit, clove and nutmeg spice, cedar and tobacco notes all wrapped up in a blanket of supple Oakville tannins.
