Wine Advocate
Reviewed December 2006The estate’s top bottling, the 2001 Brunello di Montalcino La Casa, is a strong effort. More concentrated than the normal bottling, it offers notable finesse in its suggestions of flowers, spices, red fruits and well-integrated oak. Deceptively understated, it gives the impression of still having much to say, and a few years of cellaring are recommended. (AG)

Wine & Spirits
This wine's aging in French oak adds an aromatic cherry bark scent to the fresh cherry and blueberry flavors. The freshness carries through to the end, the luscious texture and espresso-roast tannin making it feel sleek and international in style.

Vinous
Good medium red. Reticent but vinous nose suggests red fruits, flowers and pepper. A step up in intensity from the normale, with subtly complex flavors of small red berries, flowers and pepper. Delicate but still a bit folded in on itself. Finishes with firm, dusty tannins and sneaky length. This needs at least a few years of cellaring. (ST) 90+
