Reviewed August 2004The 2002 Hollerin’ M Shea Vineyard Pinot Noir (704 cases) is absolutely mind-blowing Pinot, one of the most compelling examples I have ever tasted from Oregon. Deep plum/ruby/purple to the rim, with a glorious perfume of forest floor intermixed with acacia flowers, sweet cherries and plums, as well as hints of pomegranate and blackberries, it cuts a broad swath across the palate. The texture inundates the palate, and it finishes with tremendous voluptuousness and purity. A great hedonistic treat for all the senses... (RP)

Vinous
Full red. Flamboyant aromas of tangy raspberry and exotic oak spices. Densely packed, suave and sweet, with red berry, underbrush and exotic spicy oak notes accented by a floral tea quality. The bright, energetic raspberry and strawberry fruit carries to a sappy, juicy finish that emphasizes the oak spice. Perhaps more Sine Qua Non than Pinot Noir-or Oregon, for that matter-but undeniably delicious and seductive. (JR)
