Of the 2006 Bond "Vecina" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend, Vinous writes: "The 2006 Vecina is another fabulous wine. Fresh, delineated and pedigreed to the core, the 2006 exudes class. I am especially struck by how young the 2006 tastes. Along with the 2008, the 2006 belongs to the family of more mineral-driven Vecinas. (AG)" (11/2017)

Bid on this 2-bottle tasting lot in original wood; including 1-bottle of 1985 Beaulieu Vineyard "Georges de Latour Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92VN) and 1-bottle of 1986 Beaulieu Vineyard "Georges de Latour Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L). Of the 1985 Beaulieu Vineyard "Georges de Latour Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Vinous writes: "Good full medium red, with faint amber at the edge. Pungent scents of raspberry, spices, cedar and eucalyptus. A distinctly penetrating, high-acid style with noteworthy clarity and energy to its floral flavors of berries, dark cherry and loam complicated by a touch of molasses and an obvious oak component. This soil-driven midweight, the product of a long, cool growing season, finishes with a sneaky building whiplash of flavor, with a slight dry edge suggesting energetic extraction. Classic older-style Georges de Latour. (ST)" (04/2019)

Bid on this bottle of 1982 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac (100DC, 100JA, 100JD, 100JG, 100RP, 100VN, 98WS). Vinous: "Another dazzling wine, the 1982 Pichon Lalande is utterly profound from the very first taste. In the glass, the 1982 is powerful and explosive, with seemingly endless layers of flavor that continue to unfurl over time. Vivid, intensely aromatic and seamless, the 1982 has enough pedigree and depth to drink well for at least several decades. What a wine! (AG)" (06/2017)

Bid on this bottle of 1984 Penfolds "Grange" Shiraz South Australia (94RP, 91VN, 91WS). Wine Advocate: "The best showing ever for this wine from my perspective, this blend of 95% Shiraz and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon is considered a relatively forward, accessible style of Grange. The color is still a dark plum/purple, and the wine shows plenty of sweet cassis, with notes of chocolate and toasty oak. The wine is opulent and luscious, with great intensity, full body, and fabulous extract. The acidity seems relatively low and integrated, and the tannins quite ripe. (RP)" (01/2002)

Bid on this bottle of 1985 L'Evangile, Pomerol (95RP, 95VN, 93JG, 92WS). Vinous: "The 1985 L'Evangile is a Pomerol that took many years to come round—bottles were still quite impenetrable after 20 years. Now, after almost 40 years, this is probably my favourite vintage for the estate after the 1989. Slightly darker in colour, this offers black fruit, black truffle and leather as more loamy scents surface with aeration. I appreciate the complexity of this Pomerol. The palate holds onto that structure and grip (I wonder if it underwent a longer maceration than normal?). With lightly spiced red fruit and hints of bacon fat, this L'Evangile is now at its peak. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Sea Smoke "Southing" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir (95DC, 92JS, 91RP, 91ST). Decanter: "The 2009 Southing is a coiled-up, red-fruited, muscular Pinot. The nose is compact with whispers of cherry, vanilla, sweet cedar, herbs, and a pronounced iron-like mineral note. Muscular, with powerful beams of tannins, a firm backbone of grippy acidity, and a finish marked by dark chocolate, mint, earth, and conifer. (JC)" (04/2023)

Bid on this bottle of 2022 Kongsgaard Napa Valley Chardonnay (93VN). Vinous: "The 2022 Chardonnay (Napa Valley) is typically a blend of Hyde, Hudson, Arcadia and a few others. In 2022, Hudson was not in the blend. Dried lemon peel, tangerine oil, hazelnut and chamomile unfurl in the glass. The drought conditions of the year produced a wine of considerable intensity. Its weight and viscous intensity make it a sort of mini-Judge. The 2022 is very dense and phenolic. (AG)" (12/2024)

Bid on this bottle of 2018 Fairchild Estate "Stones No. 3 - Perrarus Block 3" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99JD, 97RP, 94VN). Jeb Dunnuck: "Lastly, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Stones No. 3 comes from the oldest vines in the Tench Vineyard and was brought up in mostly new barrels. More unevolved notes of blueberries, raspberries, crushed violets, lead pencil, iron, and graphite give way to a huge, rich, full-bodied wine that has some obvious minerality, loads of floral nuances, polished tannins, and a great finish." Of the 2007 Vineyard 29 "CRU" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Wine Advocate writes: "One of Napa’s finest Cabernet Sauvignon-based wines in the $50 range is Vineyard 29's 2007 Cru. Produced by owners Chuck and Ann McMinn and their consulting winemaker, Philippe Melka, there are 5, 000 cases of this blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The grapes are all purchased, and the wine is made at their state-of-the-art facility just off Highway 29 north of St. Helena. This beautiful wine exhibits a dense ruby/purple color as well as pure black currant fruit aromas intermixed with notions of licorice, charcoal, subtle smoke, and high class unsmoked cigar tobacco. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Domaine Raveneau Chablis Grand Cru "Valmur" (94RP, 94VN, 93BH, 93JG, 93ST). Vinous: "The 2013 Chablis Valmur Grand Cru from Domaine Raveneau sports lucid green tints in the glass. It has what you might describe as a “mean” nose, hints of fresh limes, gooseberry and petrichor. Plenty of mineralité here. Moderate intensity, tight at first, this Valmur requires a few minutes to find its groove, delivering stem ginger-tinged citric peel with a slightly oiliness towards the finish that is surprising given the growing season. Quite penetrating on the close. This is excellent, yet it deserves more bottle age. (NM)" (09/2022)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Kistler "Dutton Ranch" Russian River Valley Chardonnay ((94-96RP), 92VN). Wine Advocate: "More weight and power along with notes of roasted hazelnuts, peach, and smoky, almost clarified butter smells emerge from the 2005 Chardonnay Dutton Ranch. More extroverted and exuberant than the McCrea cuvee, it is an unusually elegant effort (because the acids are crisp and refreshing) that should drink beautifully for 7-8 years. Kistler Vineyards, undeniably one of the world’s finest winemaking estates, is run with passionate dedication to detail and quality by Steve Kistler and Mark Bixler. It is wines like these that keep an old critic like me inspired and energized. (RP)" (12/2006)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2018 Aubert "Powder House" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (99RP, 97JD, 96JS, 96WS, (92-95VN)). Wine Advocate: "The second vintage of this wine, the 2018 Chardonnay Powder House comes from eight acres of what are now estate-owned vines planted in 2013 to Hyde Old Wente and Mt. Eden clones on Goldridge soils. The vineyard is located in downtown Forestville, right across from the high school. It bursts with tantalizing notions of peaches and cream, orange sherbet and lemon pastilles giving way to a grounded, serious core of Bosc pears, beeswax and baking bread. Full-bodied with a gorgeous creaminess to the texture, it delivers loads of citrus sparks among the stone fruit background with a lively backbone and very long finish. (LPB)" (01/2021)

Bid on this bottle of La Rogerie "Le Bourg Sud" Grand Cru Reserve Perpetuelle 18-22 Champagne (95DC, 92VN). Decanter: "A new release based on the hot and dry 2022 vintage, this vivid, deep and layered blanc de blancs presents the finest release yet from hotly tipped growers with vineyards based in the grand cru village of Avize. Bourg Sud comes from the vineyards heading towards Oger. It has an entrancing balance between energy of fruit and layered complexity, even at such a young age. There are flavours of toasted hazelnut and brown pastry with a beautifully measured oak influence. It never strays from the verve and vinosity of ultra-ripe, crunchy apricot and lemon-zest Chardonnay fruit. It's a highly expressive Champagne but one that doesn't overstep the mark in either ripeness or vinification. Earmark this for anywhere you'd pour a fine still Chardonnay at the table. There's no need to age this for a long time, either. (TH)" (11/2025)

Brooding blueberry, cassis, licorice and mineral nose complicated by a whiff of smoked meat; easy to pick out as Taylor in a blind grouping. Very concentrated, palate-saturating black cherry and black raspberry flavor. Thick and round but vibrant and delineated. Impressive extract. Explosive finishing fruit goes on and on. A very powerful port, but much more accessible early than a classic vintage Taylor. (ST)" (03/1998)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2015 Sea Smoke "Southing" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir (93IWR, 92WE, 90WS). Int'l Wine Review: "The 2015 'Southing' Pinot Noir is an outstanding effort sourced from Sea Smokes' south facing Estate Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills. This Pinot Noir is absolutely delectable, however it needs some time in the glass before it begins to fully express itself. Once awakened, the nose evokes a fantastic range of aromatics from blood orange to smoky tones to red cherry preserves, which all come together beautifully. The palate reveals a wonderful velvety texture and a soft mouthfeel, backed by mouth-watering acidity along with a lovely underlying saline mineral steak. Delightful flavors of black cherry cola, mulberry, black tea and Asian spices continue to merge together and leave a gorgeous lasting impression on the finish. (OB)" (11/2018)

It has a medium ruby-purple color with detailed aromas of cranberry jelly, pomegranate, lavender, dried herbs and flint. The medium-bodied palate features crunchy fruit and fireworks of fresh acidity, with an approachable, chalky frame and long, spicy finish. Yum! The Banshee has a high proportion of Mourvèdre in the blend this vintage—winemaker Scott Hawley says the variety did exceptionally well in 2019. 461 cases were made. (EB)" (12/2022)

Bid on this bottle of 2022 Aubert "UV-SL Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay ((97-99TWI), 97JS, 96WS, 95RP, 95VN). The Wine Independent: "The 2022 UV-SL Vineyards Chardonnay was tasted as a barrel sample. Super intense notes of lime leaves, green mango, and green apples jump from the glass with hints of wet pebbles, honeysuckle, and allspice. The full-bodied palate is so light on its feet, with vibrant citrus and mineral sparks and a lively backbone to lift the long yeasty/zesty finish. This vineyard is named after one of Sonoma’s most reputable vineyard managers, Ulises Valdez Sr. (UV), who passed away recently. The site is on Stoetz Lane (SL), only six miles from the Pacific Ocean, up on the hills around Graton and Occidental. Aubert and Valdez Sr. collaborated on the planting of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir here. There's a real mix of heritage clones here, making it quite complex. Around 2, 000 cases will be made. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1982 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (95JS, 95VN, 94RP, 94WS, 93DC). Vinous: "I tasted the 1982 Lynch-Bages twice within a month, both at a private dinner in London and at the château, from bottle and double-magnum on separate occasions. Both vindicate an exceptionally fine 1982, perhaps a bit overlooked in a vintage full of stars. Curiously, the bottle in Bordeaux does not fully deliver the mesmerizing freshness and energy compared to the bottle in London: pencil-lead-tinged black fruit intermixed with clove and freshly-rolled tobacco. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins, perhaps just a little austere compared to its peers. Yet, indeed, the bottle in London exudes class and composure with a detailed, mineral-driven vintage belying that year's unseasonably warm period. Superb. (NM)" (07/2023)

This is the most perfect level of ripeness, warmth, beauty and juiciness; the main quality here is drinkability. Bid on this bottle of 1982 Beaulieu Vineyard "Georges de Latour Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92JG, 90RP, 90VN). John Gilman: "The bouquet is deep, complex and classically Georges de Latour in its beautiful blend of red and black cherries, chocolate, a touch of coconutty oak, gentle cigar smoke and Rutherford dust in the upper register. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, deep and quite suave on the attack, with a fine core of fruit, gentle tannins, excellent focus and lovely length and grip on the pure, plush and refined finish. This is probably the last great classic vintage of the Georges de Latour bottling, and at least in magnum, it is drinking very well indeed and has plenty of life still ahead of it." (03/2009)

Bid on this 7-bottle lot of 2006 Martinelli "Lolita Ranch" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. According to the Producer's Website: The Lolita Ranch is located on Martinelli Road in Forestville. Giuseppe & Luisa had purchased the steep, forested landscape in the late 1800's and then later sold this particular section to a neighbor. On this site, circa 1900, there once stood a small country schoolhouse where some of the Martinelli family attended at the turn of the century. Eventually the ranch was passed on to Bob and Lolita Young, who ran a herd of Angus and Hereford cattle on the land for many years. Third generation farmer, Lee Martinelli Jr., and his wife Pamela acquired the property in 1999, returning it back to the Martinelli estate and to the family’s continuing century-long legacy of viticulture. Lee Jr. planted the steep hillside with four different grape varietals: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah, and Zinfandel.

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2012 Il Poggione Brunello di Montalcino (94DC, 94RP, 93JS, 93KO, 93VN, 93W&S, 92WS). Wine Advocate: "This is the first sample tasted in this historic retrospective. The Il Poggione 2012 Brunello di Montalcino makes for a beautiful surprise and is a fitting preface to the older vintages to follow. The wine reveals nice tannic structure at the back with lots of spice and mature fruit layered over. The quality of the silky tannins stands out especially. There is dark richness and concentration with leather and tobacco. This vintage saw its challenges, mostly due to scorching summer heat and dry winds, but the wine is all pleasure at this point in its drinking evolution. In fact, this is sheer delight. Wine Advocate: "More elegant and classically styled than the more plush, hedonistically-driven L'Orage cuvee, the sensational 2014 Block 1 is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon that was brought up all in new French oak. It's an extraordinary Cabernet from Washington that will easily stand up to the first growths of Bordeaux in a blind tasting. Tobacco leaf, blackcurrants, toasted bread, lead pencil and spice are just some of the nuances here, and it's full-bodied, silky and seamless on the palate, with a fresh, clean, elegant style that just begs to be drunk. Nevertheless, I suspect it will put on weight with another 2-3 years of cellaring, and see its 20th birthday in fine form. (JD)" (06/2017)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2017 Cayuse "Flying Pig" Walla Walla Valley Bordeaux Blend (95JD, 94RP, 94VN, 93JS, 92WE, 92WS). Jeb Dunnuck: "Based on 50% Cabernet Franc, 39% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2017 Flying Pig sports a deeper ruby/purple color as well as rocking levels of blackcurrant and black cherry fruits interwoven with notes of tobacco leaf, cedar pencil, damp earth, and spice. Bordeaux-like on both the nose and palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, has a great, rounded texture, and a clean finish. It’s beautiful example of this cuvée to drink any time over the coming 10-15 years." (04/2020)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Sea Smoke "Ten" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir (97WE, 91VN). Wine Enthusiast: "This very dense, tannic Pinot Noir represents a triumph for both the winery, the vintage and the region it represents. A multi-clone blend (hence the name) with high, cool-climate acidity and aged in 100% new oak, it’s still young, fresh and tight. The astringency throws a cloak over the raspberries, cherries, rosehip tea and Indian spice flavors, which reveal themselves only reluctantly. But they’re there, in an imposing texture of velvet and silk. This enormous wine demands time. *Wine Enthusiast Best of 2010, Cellar Selection* " (03/2010)

Bid on this 3-bottle tasting lot; including 1-bottle of Warre's "Otima" 10 Year Old Tawny Port (500ml) (91W&S, 91WS) and 2-bottles of 1997 Warre's Vintage Port (94WS, 90VN). Of the 1997 Warre's Vintage Port, Wine Spectator writes: "Dark in profile, with warm buckwheat, singed juniper and espresso notes leading off, backed by warm black currant and fig compote flavors. Has heft, but the brambly undertow is easily absorbed through the finish. Approachable, but there's no rush at all. (JM)" (02/2017)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Sea Smoke "Ten" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir (95WE). Wine Enthusiast: "This is a top bottling from one of the appellation's first superstar wineries. Aromas of baked red cherry and red plum are dusted with nutmeg, clove and a crushed-slate minerality. The palate is lively with dried fennel, white sage and an earthy mintiness, which all give spice to the underlying base of ripe raspberry fruit. It's extremely delicious and deeply layered. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2020 Cayuse "Flying Pig" Walla Walla Valley Bordeaux Blend (96WE, 94JS, 94VN, 92RP, 92WS). Wine Enthusiast: "This blend of Cabernet, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon explodes out of the glass with blackberry and mint aromas, followed by thyme and a comforting meatiness similar to ham and cheese on a croissant. Concentrated sweet cherry, dark chocolate and lemon flavors hydroplane on a smooth, slippery texture. *Editors' Choice* (MA)" (09/2023)
