2024 Domaine Seguinot Bordet Petit Chablis

I’m not embarrassed to admit that, though the 2024 Domaine Seguinot-Bordet Petit Chablis was one of the least expensive wines in a recent Burgundy tasting, it was one of my favorites. It’s like a pair of jeans that fits just right. You can dress it up or down. It’s easy breezy. Baked apple, fresh pear, jasmine, green tea, and lemon swirl across the palate. The finish brings pear, soft jasmine, and lemon peel, followed by a chalky seashell note that speaks directly to the Kimmeridgian soils on which the 25- to 35-year-old vines are planted. The wine is aged in temperature-controlled tanks for precision and purity, both of which come through clearly on the palate. This is what you drink while waiting for cherished Burgundy collectibles to get some beauty rest. A winner-winner for a chicken dinner, too.
