Between Fleys and Vaucoupin. Pale lemon. A bundle of white stone energy, a fresh and dynamic approach, with salinity. I see Cyril’s point about the potential ageability of this vintage. Quite a distinguished nose, I was thinking 1er Cru. Remarkably long finish. Drink from 2028-2032. Tasted Jun 2025.

There’s good balance between salty minerality and fruit. Crunchy and limey, with a medium body and a saline, stony finish. Drink now.

WOW! It's hard to know where to start. For $28, is stupendous. This Chablis is produced exclusively for us by Agnes Gleizes and Cyril Gautheron of the Gautheron family. Coming from a parcel of 55-year-old vines, it's stupendously fresh, with excellent structure and concentration of fruit, excellent textural complexity, and a shockingly long finish. Everything about it SCREAMS $50 Premier Cru Chablis, and yet this rings it at nearly half that price.

This is Chablis turned up a notch, it's very much akin to the classic Agnes Gleizes Chablis, but there's more depth and richness and even a bit more minerality than the traditional Chablis. I am super here for it. There's that bright oyster shell shining through on the nose and it really helps pull this into another tier. This is one of the better Chablis from 2024 that I've tried and I'm super super happy that it's one of our store mainstays. Just fantastic.

Notes

Bill Nanson Burgundy Report: "3 ha of vines between Fleys and Vaucoupin – 15 months on fine lees, made this since 2009 and worked organically here since 2009 too, without certification, ‘Sometimes I think the treatments are too much – I prefer a homoeopathic approach – of-course if something is needed. This bottled for 1 month. Wider – airy – super clarity though! Wide, melting, juicy flavours – super wine – the last with a hint more softness at the edges. Finishing great – this could be difficult for me, if all are so great !!"(03/2026)
