Reviewed January 2024This is now the third vintage of these vines, the first albariño from Marichal, planted in 2019, and we at Descorchados have liked it since its first vintage, the 2021. This 2023 offers an herbal and citrusy side with soft touches of ripe fruits and a body dominated by bright acidity. It's unoaked, a pure expression of the variety grown on the clay and limestone soils of Echevarría, in Canelones.

What a pleasure! I certainly, until now, knew nothing about Albarino from Uruguay. In this case, it was pretty much a revelation. Clean, with nectarine, limestone, white pears. Floral aspects with a bright palate, clean, fresh, lemon/lime, minerals and citrus. This is the definition of refreshing. Great price, too!
