Reviewed May 20221927 Vines is fine example of the amazing versatility of the marsanne grape. It is probably its purest expression, capturing its essential beauty early and then allowing bottle age to bring complexity. From 2016 we see lovely florals emerging on the bouquet, showing signature honeysuckle, grilled grapefruit and almond development. Belies its age with a youthful energy and drive across the palate, lively acidity matched by a soft texture. By no means at its peak.

This unique bottling has some very nice age on it! What is very surprising is the clean citrus edge that drives this wine. Initially, there are white flowers and lychee, green and yellow pear. Then, the citrus pops up with grapefruit, lemon and juicy orange. The is even a lively and very long finish. All of this was quite unexpected. It is all so very interesting and mouthwatering!
