Reviewed January 2024The 2021 Pinot Noir Gap's Crown Vineyard is fabulous. In fact, it is one of the finest wines I have tasted from Three Sticks. Dark blue/black fruit, licorice, spice, gravel, crushed rocks, menthol, lavender and mocha saturate the palate with tremendous depth and textural intensity. The 2021 is, quite simply, majestic. From a great vintage in Sonoma County, this wine ties with the 2017 William James Vineyard as the highest-rated Three Sticks offering. A smoky, toasty top note leads to intense, deep red- and black-cherry flavors in this structured, well-oaked wine.
