Reviewed July 2022The 2019 Pinot Noir Doc's Ranch Swan & Calera Selection has a medium ruby color and deep aromas of pomegranate, blood orange, iron, wilted roses and decaying leaves, gaining more aromatic nuance with each return to the glass. The medium-bodied palate offers surprising fruit intensity for its delicate frame, and it finishes with tremendous length and layer after layer of spicy fruit. (EB)

Also ruby-hued, the 2019 Pinot Noir Doc's Ranch Vineyard Swan & Calera Selection is beautiful, with a floral perfume of lavender, pure red cherry, and five spices. Medium-bodied with more concentration on the mid-palate, it has ripe tannins, a gravelly texture, refreshing lift, and a long finish. Drink 2024-2034.

The 2019 Pinot Noir Doc's Ranch Vineyard Swan & Calera Selection is bright and effusive, with lovely aromatic presence to play off a core of red-toned fruit. Brisk acids and veins of tannin lend palpable energy throughout. This really sizzles with tension. Give it a few years to soften. Time in the glass brings out striking inner perfume and tons of class.
