2020 Perlegos "Stampede Vineyard" Clements Hills Zinfandel

The Stampede Vineyard is located 25 miles northeast of Lodi, California, and was planted in the 1920s. From the winery: "The grapes were fermented using native yeasts and minimally handled until bottling after 11 months in neutral barrels. This wine is young, but it tastes ancient, like a mossy California forest that's been warmed by the hot, California Sun. With notes of red cherry, blackberry, tobacco, and wild herbs, it holds fine-graied tannins, firm acidity and a long finish. Pair with your favorite barbecue, spicy curry, or leg of lamb."
