Light and translucent in the glass with notable leafy, forest-floor aromas. Hedgerow, brambly fruit. Light baking spice. Subtle and elegant. Already showing a distinct terroir that is so "Reed."

Notes

Calera's Reed Vineyard consists of just a little under 4.5 acres that were planted to Pinot Noir in 1975. Formerly forested, these north and northeast facing upper and lower blocks features the deepest and darkest soils with more clay, and thus fruit is slower to ripen. It was named after William (Bill) G. Reed, Sr. one of Calera's original founding partners and close friend to Josh Jenson. Reed Vineyard Pinots are typically exotically perfumed, light in body, with a soft, supple mouthfeel. The cool microclimate makes for wines with naturally fresh acidity and the structure to develop nicely with age.
