Hand-harvested from multi-site vineyards rich in soils mixed with clay and silt, Gelmino and Cristina's "Montesei" is an easy drinking none complicated, just enjoy Soave. A touch of lanolin and citrus oil, green pear, lime, fresh green herbs of chervil reveal on the dot. Texture is mild with a tad bit of viscosity but overall this is a clean and lean wine perfect to enjoy with tuna ceviche with avocado and cilantro.

Notes

Gelmino and Cristina Dal Bosco started their winery in 2002 when the family decided to stop selling their grapes to the local co-op and make wine themselves. The winery and vineyards are located in the town of Brognoligo in the heart of the Soave Classico production area that is limited only to the communes of Soave and Monteforte d’Alpone in the province of Verona. The Montesei bottling is 100% Garganega which is harvested by hand and vinified in stainless steel. The color of the wine is a yellow straw, and the profile bright and floral with mineral detail and refreshing energy. Antonio Galloni writes: "The estate’s vineyards are planted on very steep slopes on highly volcanic soils and the wines, though not the last word in sheer concentration, magically combine power and grace."
