Reviewed February 2020After sitting out the 2014 vintage, Andrea Costanti calls 2015 a beautiful year and one of the best in the history of Brunello. He deemed it exceptional enough to craft a Riserva (to be released in 2021) yet his classic Brunello hasn't suffered for it. In fact, it's one of the greatest successes of the vintage. Gorgeous, seductive aromas are already expressive but still youthful. Cherry and plum are enveloped by exotic spice and a faint smokiness. The palate is plush and velvety with layers of powdery tannins that build, and tangy acid that cleanses the palate. Hedonistic but brilliantly balanced, it is hard to resist now but the best is definitely yet to come. (MM)

Boasting dark fruit, scorched earth and savory spice, the Conti Costanti 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is a wine of broad shoulders and a lasting aromatic imprint. It is fleshy and even a bit flashy, thanks to that abundant and generous aromatic display. To the palate, this Riserva is soft, thickly textured and enriched by the ripeness of its fruit fiber and the warmth of the Tuscan sun. I love the nose on the 2015 Constanti Brunello. Mounds of well fortified aromas leap out, raspberry, cherry, pomegranate, dried/fresh hibiscus amid there and some savory herbal tones that follow in on the back end. On its first sip all flavors envelop the palate and matches the nose to a tee, I love that! Along with the lingering silky yet refined tannin shows an abundance of flavor in this bottle. I recommend purchasing a 6 pack and open it over the next 5 years and be sure to share this with that special someone that knows a thing or two about well made Brunello, this one is a conversation bottle.

Perfumed, saline aromas of red cherry, raspberry nectar, herbs, violet, red roses and minerals on the captivating nose; this really opens and improves with aeration, so make sure you open the bottle at least an hour or so ahead.
