2014 Louis Brochet "Alain" Millesime Brut Champagne

This blend of 2/3 Pinot Noir and 1/3 Chardonnay comes exclusively from the Brochet families estate in the premier cru of Ecuiel on the mountain of Reims. It is dosed at just five grams per liter and sees 10% barrel fermentation. This exceptional vintage Champagne reminds me of some of the best 1988s that I tasted when they were young. This is streamlined, elegant and graceful Champagne with beautiful pain au levin toast and savory dark cherry Pinot power.
