The 2018 Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Kabinett is also very pretty this year, but it is a touch riper and softer than the Schlossberg version. This comes in at an even ten percent alcohol and delivers a refined bouquet of lemon, apple, salty slate, a touch of white cherry, spring flowers and bee pollen. On the palate the wine is pure, medium-full and gently creamy on the attack, with a good core, fine focus and complexity and a long, elegant and classy finish that is just a touch gentle in its acidity. The 2018 Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett is quite deep and intense on the concentrated and complex nose. Round, lush and elegant on the palate, this is a lingeringly salty, very elegant and well-articulated Kabinett with tickling acidity and a fruit-intense, stimulating and grippy crystalline finish. It's not that sweet but is perfectly balanced, with mineral intensity and body. Just 10% alcohol but lots of expression. Tasted from AP 7 19 in May 2019. (SR)

Vinous
Honeysuckle and heliotrope garland fresh apple on an effusively flowery nose. The palate is creamy in texture yet infectiously juicy, and the finish is refreshing and admirably transparent to stony underpinnings. Like its Schlossberg counterpart, this is a pretty, poised and appropriately buoyant as well as refreshing Kabinett. (DS)

K&L Notes
90 points Mosel Fine Wines: "AP: 07 19. The 2018er Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett was harvested at 91° Oechsle and was fermented down to fruity-styled levels of residual sugar (45 g/l). It offers a delicately elegant and restrained nose of spicy pear, vineyard peach, candied citrus, orange zest and elderflower. The wine is nicely balanced on the palate, even if it shows more the fruity presence and character of a Spätlese than those of a real fresh Kabinett. The finish is delicately smooth and direct in style. 2023-2033." (04/2019)
