2017 Idle Chatter Mendocino Red

From the producer: "70% SYRAH, 25% PETITE SIRAH, 5% VIOGNIER. Vineyards are all located in Mendocino County - a mix of ancient alluvial soils and volcanic materials at elevations ranging from 700- 1200 feet. Grapes were harvested over a period of a month from mid-September to mid-October for optimal ripeness according to variety and elevation. The grapes were then destemmed into tank for daily pumpovers and an 18 day maceration period. Wild yeast primary fermentation in tank (Syrah & Viognier co-fermented) followed by racking in to a combination of foudre, neutral barrique and tank for malolactic and ageing for 10 months."
