Reviewed February 2017Notes
The Cave de Tain is widely regarded as the best cooperative winemaking facility in all of France. Long ties to the community and with much of its own holdings, they oneology team has much more control over the cultivation and quality of the grapes coming into the winery. Seated at the foot of Hermitage and with an incredible cellar, they are making great wines at all levels from the humble IGP to the top Cru appellations. The Hermitage Blanc is 100% Marsanne, partially barrel-fermented and all barrel aged on the lees for 12 months. The results are a creamy rich texture and harmonious balance expressing the great terroir just outside the cellar door. (Keith Mabry, K&L Buyer)
