Reviewed July 2013A reticent, inward wine, the 2010 Pinot Noir Mays Canyon is one of the few Pinots in this range that will require patience. Firm and structured, the 2010 possesses stunning power to back up its dark red and black fruit. Readers will have to be patient with this massive Pinot, but there is tons of potential here. Endowed wine a huge frame and equally huge fruit, the 2010 Mays Canyon is simply stunning. (AG)

Good full medium red. Wild nose initially dominated by meat and leather, but a more primary blackberry aroma emerges with air. Dense, supple and serious, with brooding dark fruit, spice and black tea flavors. Finishes long, with a solid spine of tannins for aging. Hold this for at least five years. (ST) 91+
