This "second wine" from one of our favorite Chateauneuf houses absolutely rocks! For all intents and purposes, this has the flavors of top-notch Cotes du Rhone but a price that is earth-shatteringly low. Just an absolutely amazing daily drinking pleasure.
Notes
A blend of 80 percent Grenache and 20 percent Carignane from a family-run winery in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. From the winery: "Ruby red colour with purplish reflections. On the nose, red fruits, raspberry, typical of young Grenache noir. On the palate, very aromatic and fresh supported by discreet, soft tannins. Smooth, quaffing."
