2009 Haut Prieur Côtes de Bordeaux "Vielles Vignes"

SKU #1133951

A lovely wine from the Cotes de Blaye. Plenty of sweet blackberry fruit. Elegant and delicious now. Will cellar well for five plus years.

Deeply colored, this wine is ripe and jammy, with a core of sweet fruit. Drink this puppy near-term with a big, rich steak. 14.5% ABV
Drink from 2013 to 2015

A total shocker. This is a juicy, dark-fruited, wonderfully-balanced bottle of Bordeaux wine. It's not something to age, but something to drink while you're waiting for your other bottles to age. More new world, than old school, but it's not over the top. The ripeness of the vintage is simply on full display.

The Malbec on this wine makes it a very interesting Bordeaux. Quite smokey and meaty, with notes of bacon as well, but also with beautiful violets notes. Very good indeed
