K&L Notes

We were very impressed with the 1996 Clement Pichon at several tastings. 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 10% Cab Franc. The beautiful nose leads to black cherry and coffee notes. There's plenty of fruit and nice balance, allowing this wine to be enjoyed fairly young or age for several years. It has a nice touch of elegance. Clement Pichon is a familiar name to many that have visited Bordeaux. Located in southern Médoc not far north of the city of Bordeaux, this Château is one of the most beautiful in the region. Planted in 1976, the vineyard is really coming of age.

Showed a lovely mix of dried herbs, tart dried currants and Asian spices, along with fragrant red fruit and peppery spice.

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), Merlot (30%) and Cabernet Franc (10%), this nicely aged, matured Cru Bourgeois Bordaeaux came directly to us from the library cellar of the chateau. In its opulent, distinctive bouquet, you will be treated to blackberry, mocha, cedary to antiqueish components, which carry over well into its complex, lush, silky mouthfeel. Sophisticated, elegant and well-integrated, this Gem finishes with a long, warm, and intricate finish. Rusty has informed me that this Gem will definitely be one of our house reds for the month. 13.0% ABV
Drink from 2013 to 2018
