Some oyster shell, berry biscuits, fresh strawberries and gently toasty brioche here. Lots to like. The palate is plump and flavorsome with plenty of berries and citrus intertwined. Good depth here. Grapefruit finish. Drink now.

Decanter
Veuve's 'yellow label' non-vintage Champagne is perhaps the region's most recognisable. It's a blend of around 50% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Meunier, from up to 60 different crus. The doughy base shows a hint of creaminess, layered with light and fresh flavours of lemon, orange peel, razor-sharp green apples and a steely, mineral finish. Quintessential Champagne and a great aperitif thanks to it's light-footed style. (JB)

Brisk lemon-lime flavors and floral apple clarity lend this wine its freshness and mineral-tinged refreshment. It smells like chalk, then the flavors are enriched by toasty brioche and spiciness from the lees aging. Simple and saturated, finely made in a grand-marque style.

This fresh and balanced Champagne is lightly toasty, with snappy acidity and a lively, creamy mousse carrying flavors of white cherry, pickled ginger and Marcona almond. Offers saline-laced minerality. (AN)

Hint of coconut. Some real sweetness and charm, but the magnum effect is very important. In bottle it’s unlikely to taste nearly as good. Easy to like and some real richness along with tension; the candied citrus note desired is perceptible. Just a little metallic and dry on the end. Is the fruit drying out a little? (JR)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The latest rendition of the NV Brut Yellow Label offers up aromas of toasty, honeyed yellow orchard fruit and white flowers, followed by a medium-bodied, open-knit palate with tangy acids, a youthfully frothy mousse and pure if somewhat brief finish. This isn't as powerful as the 2008 Grande Dame, but it's livelier; indeed, based on these examples, there isn't much qualitative gap between the two. Given the quantity produced, this is a creditable effort. (WK)

Wine Enthusiast
This best-selling Champagne is getting slightly drier. This bottling also has touches of attractive toastiness that suggests some bottle age. Final acidity and white fruits keep the freshness. (RV)
