In 1975, with the profits from "The Godfather," director Francis Ford Coppola bought the iconic Inglenook estate in Napa Valley, which had fallen into the hands of corporate interests and had been churning out mass-market plonk. He later purchased the winery facility itself and reunited the properties under the name Niebaum-Coppola, as a nod to the winery's founder. His Black Label Claret is a Bordeaux blend with ripe California personality: bright fruit, sumptuous texture, and plenty of tannic grip.
