Vietti’s Derthona is made entirely from Timorasso, the native white grape of the Tortona hills in southeastern Piedmont. The producer identifies sites in and around Monleale, on soils rich in limestone and clay, with southeastern and southwestern exposures. Derthona is Tortona’s ancient Roman name. Vietti introduced this bottling with the 2018 vintage after several years of experimentation with local winemakers. The 2024 carries the Colli Tortonesi DOC designation.
