The 2024 Girlan "Marna" Chardonnay (Alto Adige DOC) is a razor-sharp, texturally compelling masterpiece that highlights the high-altitude potential of the Oltradige hills. Sourced from selected vineyards between 350 and 450 meters above sea level, the wine takes its name from the marna (limestone-marl) soils that dominate these cool-climate terraces. Cantina Girlan vinifies this fruit with a focus on structural clarity, utilizing a combination of stainless steel and large, neutral oak casks for fermentation and aging on the fine lees, ensuring the variety's pristine alpine energy remains entirely unmasked by sweet new-wood makeup.
