Reviewed March 2025The 2023 Muskateller is indeed a pure Gelber Muskateller from 35-year-old vines in the Ried Vogelsang region. It received a day of skin contact and fermented spontaneously in large barrels. This is scented and floral, trailing vivid lemon and subtly fragrant gentle white summer blossom notes. The palate is light and rounded, with a yeasty vibe and supple, smooth freshness.(AK)

Heidi Schröck’s 2023 Gelber Muskateller comes from Ried Vogelsang in Rust and is made entirely from that variety. A day of skin contact preceded spontaneous fermentation in large barrels. Heidi Schröck took over her family’s winery in 1983 and now works with her twin sons, Johannes and Georg. Their vineyards lie around Rust near Lake Neusiedl, in Austria’s Burgenland region.
