Reviewed September 2024The 2023 Riesling No. 6 Senior, harvested from 70-year-old vines at the tail-end of the Ayler Kupp, benefits from the evening sun. A subtle nose brings pale peach that ripens with more air. Smoothness and flow define the palate, with gentle, calm fruit and a drop of lemon to accentuate the yellow, smooth peach flesh. It's still dry, emphasizing lovely, understated peach fruit and a mild finish. Generous but with no fat at all. (AK)

The 2023er Ayler Riesling “Senior” N°6 with AP06 is a dry wine (with less than 9 g/l of residual sugar) made from fruit harvested from the original Kupp hill on a west-facing section towards Wawern. This bright-yellow-colored wine offers a superb nose made of white peach, mirabelle, whipped cream, bergamot, wet stone, and herbs. It is slightly smooth and not overly intense on the palate but leaves a satisfying feel of fruits and minerals in the subtly creamy finish. 2025-2031." (07/2024)
