I'm smitten with this fun little spirit from the north eastern part of the French Southwest. This plum brandy is one of the easiest to appreciate, but will impress even the most jaded brandy lover. Forward sweet oak proceeds and incredibly deep fruitiness. No heat on the palate, the powerful fruit feels like its been sweetened, but it's in fact very dry.

From the historic Louis Roque distillery located in the sleepy town of Souillac. Imported by the inimitable Charles Neal, Roque specializes in Vieille Prune from Gascony. Perhaps the finest in its class, certainly the best of what's available in the states, the spirit is distilled using only the best Gascogne Plums. With the depth of a cognac and the finesse of a plum brandy, this Vieille Prune has an unparalleled richness.
