2020 Gold Medal Winner at SF Spirits. From the Distiller: Bixby Gin was born to be tremendous. Handmade with distiller designed distillation equipment. Inspired by a hike in Big Sur, Bixby honors California’s exposed Pacific mountains with floral and savory complexity that runs alongside wildflowers and exposed chaparral. All ingredients are foraged, farmed and sourced. Elderflower, chamomile and California grown orange and lime peel lead the experience with aromatics. Sage, coriander and rosemary carry the momentum across mid palate. A nice juniper finish is long and mellowed with other botanicals. Distilled over direct fire. Hand written batch on every bottle.

A splendid gin made as an homage to California's coastal mountains and to Lloyd, the distiller's grandfather. Distilled in Gonzales, CA this gin is true to its roots, both in its geographical sense, and a London Dry sense. It does not lack for a juniper backbone - a fault in so many contemporary gins. It also does not shy away from incorporating its natural surroundings and expressing what it means to walk amongst the trees in Big Sur - it's inspiration. In particular, the sage and California bay stand out, yet blend in perfectly. This gin is equally at home in a G&T or Martini and certainly feels right sitting on your bar.
