Wine & Spirits
This has the unmistakable delicacy and softness of El Maestro Sierra’s house style. Aged under the veil of flor for four years, it has strong acidity, a deliciously abrasive texture reminiscent of the albariza soils and a spicy finish that invites you to drink the whole bottle with a plate of pescaíto frito.

Wine Advocate
The non-vintage Fino offers up aromas and flavors of sea salt and roasted nuts. It is excellent as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to sushi. (JM)

Wine Spectator
Bright and floral, with honeysuckle and chamomile notes leading the way for white peach and fleur de sel hints. The slightly rounded edge makes this a good intro to fino for those new to Sherry. (JM, Web Only-2018)
K&L Notes
El Maestro Sierra is a terrific boutique sherry bodega in Jerez de la Frontera. Originally founded by a master carpenter, Jose Antonio Sierra, who had been in the business of creating barrels for other sherry bodegas, the bodega is now owned by three women. That's right, in this very male-dominated segment of the Spanish wine business, three women call the shots! El Maestro Sierra has terrific older soleras, as well as this delicious fino, which is a significant step up in quality from even the reserva level bottlings from the larger shippers. Fino sherry is the perfect aperitif and accompaniment to snacks before or a meal; its tangy and salty qualities stimulate the appetite like few other wines. Alternatively, it goes surprisingly well with many seafood dishes and Chinese cuisine.
