Reviewed January 2025An even mid ruby purple. Suchots elegance emerges immediately on the nose and stays throughout the palate. Very refined little red fruits, some of the alpine strawberries, an excellent persistence with the whole bunches showing at the finish in a manner I find most engaging, extending the finish. Really lovely Drink from 2030-2038. Tasted Nov 2024.

Mugneret's 2023 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots is impressive, exhibiting aromas of plums and dark berries mingled with orange zest, spices and violets. Medium to full-bodied, creamy and layered, with succulent acids, sweet tannins and a deep, multidimensional mid-palate, it's well worth seeking out. (WK)

Note: from 40+ year old vines; 70% whole cluster. Exuberantly spicy and notably ripe aromas include those of poached plum, violet, lilac, exotic tea and a whiff of soy. The super-sleek, delicious and vibrant medium weight flavors are not as dense as those of the best in the range but there is certain 'presence' here, particularly on the firm, serious and again youthfully austere finale that I find quite engaging.
