Reviewed July 2008A deep garnet hue. The nose is reticent at first, but then a lovely bouquet of blackberry, blueberry and crushed violets emerges and gains intensity with aeration. Fine tannins on the palate, cohesive but still quite backward with a surprisingly firm backbone and an austere finish. Needs more time. (NM)

Very sumptuous and dark and richly coloured. Quite floral on the nose. Gentle texture with the tannins starting to melt. Just a little obvious on the finish. (JR)

Wine Spectator
A fresh and fruity wine, with blackberry and cherry character, medium body and a clean finish. Pretty and delicious. (JS)
Notes
18+/20 points, Chris Kissack on winedoctor.com: "This is a little denser and more youthful in appearance again. Roasted coffee nose, very promising and fine, aromatic, minerally, smoky nose. Great freshness on the palate, ripe, finely structured, rather silky in character, but with very good substance enveloping a lovely core of tannins. This excellent wine demands five years in the cellar at least." (11/2005)
