Reviewed September 2023What a staggering nose of yellow peach, mandarin orange, pineapple, star fruit and a slew of wild herbs this dry riesling has, yet this is not a jot loud or extravagant. Ripe and creamy yet so vibrant and precise this squares the riesling circle. Breathtakingly fresh and intense at the super-long finish. Enormous aging potential.

The 2022 Riesling Loibenberg has an intriguing mix of yellow pear overlaid by fragrant, fresh and bright green and orange citrus as well as yellow peach flesh. The palate is smooth, with supple yeast and ripe juiciness on its medium body, yet the citrus flavors perfume and guide this forward. The finish, however, belongs to zesty, tingling bright and ripe citrus. This is a concentrated and linear wine. (Bone-dry)(AK)

The 2022 Loibner Ried Loibenberg Riesling has a complex perfume of crushed stones and iodine intertwined with lemon juice and stone fruit aromas. Dense and concentrated on the palate, this is a well-structured and balanced Riesling with ripe, very elegant, concentrated but still transparent and finessed fruit. It is stimulatingly saline on the mouthwatering finish. The aftertaste is long, saline and aromatic and always uplifted and fresh. (SR)
