Reviewed May 2024Pouring a deep salmon color in the glass, the 2023 Rosé is all cherry juice. Dried cherry, kirsch, fresh black cherry-you name it, it's here. Creamy, sweet and sun-kissed, I can see this wine being enjoyed by readers who like Rosé on the softer side of the spectrum. It's rounded and gentle in the mouth but also completely full-flavored. The finish echoes notes of, you guessed it, cherries. (BN)

Vignernon Peter Fischer is one of the most fun winemakers I have ever had a chance to hang with. He speaks multiple languages, plays different musical instruments and tells fun raucous stories. We started working with him just a few years ago, directly and our focus has been on this delightfully fresh and exotic rosé. All hand harvested (a rarity in Provence), from his vineyards north of the Montagne Ste-Victoire, everything is farmed organically. It is composed of mostly Grenache with a splash each of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault and Carignan. This special rosé has flavors of Red Delicious apple, lemon peel, wet stone and wild thyme.
Notes
With clean citrus and light strawberry notes, this is a subtle yet serious expression of Provence rosé for people who prefer a mineral-driven style. Château Revelette is an organically-certified, 30-hectare estate run by German transplant Peter Fisher in the Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence AOC. Grapes are hand-harvested and vinified in their traditional but modernly equipped cellar. Grape varieties in this rosé include 70% Grenache, 10% Cinsault, 9% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Carignan, and 5% Ugni Blanc.
