Reviewed June 2023
Pinot Noir clone 777 grown in clay soils on a hillside. Direct whole-cluster pressing, then inoculation for a cool-temperature ferment for 42 days. The wine is then racked and cold stabilised before being moved to steel for settling for four months. Filtered before bottling. Pale baby-pink. Aromas of strawberries and watermelon. Flavours of watermelon and berries have a silky texture and nice juiciness thanks to very good acidity. There's a touch of citrus peel lingering in the finish. A textbook summer wine to chill and enjoy. (AY)

Notes

A beautiful, fragrant, dry, crisp rosé of Pinot Noir from one of the best vineyards in the region. Greengate Ranch is well known in the area for producing top-notch Pinot Noir and is a source for many top wineries in the region. The vines are grown on hillsides looking over the Edna Valley. Clay / limestone soils and cool winds that funnel up Price Canyon from the Pacific Ocean produce very aromatic, intense fruit with brillaint natural acidity and bright fruit. This wine is an absolute bargain after this small family winery needed to move some inventory after pandemic related impacts on their business. After tasting the line up of wines we jumped at the chance of getting these wines to our customers at simply incredible prices. Our staff are buying these by the case!
