Rich and opulent with toasty hazelnut and marzipan notes but also lovely mineral undertone it is definitely fuller style of Pouilly Fuisse. It has good mineral strike and aromatic profile of white flowers and alluring ripe pear and citrus flavor. Tasty and good wine for roasted chicken.

Another Pouilly-Fuisse from Vitallis that has incredible tartness, minerality, and spice. Fleshy mid-palate fruit with golden apple and apricot fruit. The finish has lingering citrus and pear flavors. The most generous and rich of the Vitallis Pouilly-Fuisse series for this year.

The Vatallis VV has a richness and remarkably lifted aromatic profile, coming across with more saline, mineral water, lemon pith and grapefruit. This Pouilly also lingers texturally longer than the others in the lineup, and makes this an absolute dazzle to drink. I could see this being an ease to enjoy with panko fried chicken cutlets with an arugula and fennel side salad dressed in a simple olive oil and white wine vinaigrette with some grapefruit segments garnishing.

Notes

Vitallis is a new hidden gem our buyers found in the Mâcon, where small producers fly under the radar. In classic Burgundian fashion, the Dutron family has been growing vines since 1835, and now owns some of the oldest and best parcels in the village of Fuissé, located in the Pouilly-Fuissé district. The vines for this release are more than 85 years old! In the glass, the wines live up to the hype. The producer explains: "this Pouilly-Fuissé ‘Vieilles Vignes’ is notable for its bright yellow-gold hue with green highlights. On the nose, it is intense and complex, with intermingling notes of cumin, pear, grilled hazelnuts and white flowers. The attack is oily and peppery and soon accompanied by notes of apple and candied grapefruit. There is a nice tension on the finish with hints of toast and a touch of pear eau de vie."
