Casa Dragones Blanco Tequila (750ml) (ships as a 1.5l)

SKU #1167986

The magnificent Casa Dragones has been blowing it up in the high-end tequila market. They've finally made their exquisite low-land tequila available to the masses. This surprisingly approachable blanco has all the finesse and structure of the Joven, but without the sweet vanilla and spice oak. This shows tons of apple and pear, with slight whiffs of the minerally vegetable that we expect from a lowland. On the palate it's clean and bright with lovely sweet fruit and only a slight cracked pepper quality. Ultimately, a fine follow up to a very difficult to beat opening act.

This is a beautifully sippable blanco that reminds me why I like tequila so much. There's a lot of character and purity here with sophisticated shades of fruit and soil tones. There's no burn on the entry which invites you to really savor it and appreciate that there's no wood to get in the way of the agave. But the "premium" pedigree here for me is the persistent, bright, sun-shiny length of the finish.

Ultra smooth blanco component from the wildly successful Casa Dragones Sipping Tequila Joven. The spicy black pepper and dark mineral notes are softened by a third distillation. Usually, I would avoid triple distilled Tequila because they tend to lack character, but this Blanco is definitely the exception to that rule of thumb. The result is a fruity, whimsical blanco, that provides good depth and structure thanks to the ultra high quality lowland fruit that's being used. Drinking Blanco is becoming cool again and this is one of the best options to get you away from the oaky extra anejos or the ultra intensely flavored old school blancos.
