Domaine Macle Macvin du Jura (750ml)

SKU #1075625

The domaine, located in Château-Chalon, was founded in 1850 and today consists of 12 hectares of vines in both the Côtes du Jura and Château-Chalon appellations. Laurent Macle is the current generation in charge at the domaine, which produces white wine of Savignin and Chardonnay. Macvin du Jura was awarded appelation controlee status in 1991, and it produces powerful vin de liqueur wines by arresting the fermentation of the grape juice and adding already-pressed grapes, or marc. The result is a sweet but uniquely earthy wine that is served as an aperitif or with lightly sweet dishes. This style of wine has been made since the 14th Century.
