Old Pulteney 'Clipper Commemorative Edition' Single Malt Whisky (750ml)

Released in July of 2014 to celebrate OPs maritime hertiage and entry in the 2013-14 Clipper Round The World Yacht Race. Old Pulteney made just 2,700 cases of this limited edition bottling. Weridly a some cases resurfaced in a deep warehouse dive at the importer. Old Pulteney has long been a favorite of the store and this bottling is excellent, so we jumped at the chance to bring it back onto our shelf (and at 50% off of the original price in 2014 to boot!) Bottled at a robust 46% ABV this bottling features malt aged in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks. The color is a polished gold. The palate smacks of dried fruits, crisp green apples, fresh vanilla and milk chocolate all kissed by salt - the hallmark of Old Pulteney's maritime aging climate on the far northern shores in Wick, Scotland.
