SKU #998596 94 points Jeb Dunnuck

Outer quote mark The NV Champagne Brut Rose is an attractive pale salmon hue, with a fresh perfume of wild strawberry, ripe peach, white and red flowers, a hint of tropical fruit, and grapefruit. The palate is rounded, with fruit up front and through the mid-palate, and it has a silky and fresh lift. There is a wonderful ease and drinkability to this wine, which delivers balance and finesse. Outer quote mark Attractive salmon color with aromas of dried strawberries and lemons, as well as hints of flowers. Full-bodied with tight tension from the fine phenolics that run through the palate. Hints of white pepper, peaches and sliced green strawberries with some candied lemons, too. Always an excellent bottle. 40% chardonnay, 30% pinot noir and 30% pinot meunier. Outer quote mark Sleek and finely knit, with a lovely, satiny mousse gliding across the palate, carrying flavors of white raspberry, peach skin, blanched almond and oyster shell. Long and mouthwatering, with hints of ground ginger and pink grapefruit pith on the elegant finish. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. (AN, Web-2023) Inner quote mark

Outer quote mark The NV Rosé, base 2019, is bright, lifted and refreshing. Crushed red berry fruit, mint, white pepper and chalk are very nicely delineated. There's terrific depth and texture to fill out the soft, curvy contours. The 2019 base Rosé is fabulous. In fact, it is one of the best recent releases I can remember tasting. 91 points Decanter

Outer quote mark Currently based on the 2016 harvest, this is floral and citrussy, showing a lithe, graceful balance. It’s a blend of 40% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir and 30% Meunier, with about 40% of reserve wine, and red wine accounts for 7% of the blend. Its delicate, subtly expansive flavours of raspberry and strawberry are enlivened by a tangerine-like acidity, and while it feels ripe and full in flavour on the palate, it never loses its sense of refinement and poise, finishing with detailed length and depth. 91 points Wine Advocate

Outer quote mark Based on the 2018 vintage, Billecart's new NV Brut Rosé incorporates 40% reserve wines and some 6% still red wine. Bursting with scents of sweet red berries, peonies, stone fruits, white cherries, freshly baked bread and spices, it's medium to full-bodied, pillowy and charming, with a seamless and enveloping core of fruit and a lively, fine-boned profile. (WK) Inner quote mark (8/2022)

91 points Wine Enthusiast

Outer quote mark A fine composition of red fruits and taut citrus, this Champagne is poised and fragrant with acidity and light tannins. (RV) Inner quote mark (12/2023)

Jancis Robinson

Outer quote mark Bright coppery pink. A pretty strawberries-and-cream nose that leads straight to raspberries galore in the mouth. Blood orange, too, with a suggestion of tamarind chutney. Frankly fruity and frankly delicious. The balance is just right for food – in fact the wine was surprisingly good with a rich, slow-cooked pheasant red-wine casserole, and equally good with roasted tomato-and-courgette frittata the following day. K&L Notes

What could be more civilized than treating your special someone (or yourself) to an aperitif of rosé Champagne? For good reason, the Billecart-Salmon Brut Rosé defines the entire rosé Champagne category. Composed of 40% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir and 30% Meunier, it gets its color and rosé flavor from 8% red wine. The red wine is almost exclusively sourced from Billecart’s home village of Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, from massal-selected Pinot Noir plots of 60–80 years old. These plots are picked at still red wine ripeness—12% potential alcohol—and then de-stemmed and cold macerated before fermentation. It is this red wine that makes the Billecart Rosé so special, and unfortunately also limits the supply. The finished product is the most elegant, restrained, dry, and delicate wine that one could drink. The complexity is there if you search for it, but the pleasure is easy to find!

This is the benchmark in rose Champagne, and it deserves every bit of its fame. I find it elegant and balanced every time that I have it, and the blushing pink color is always perfect. The supply of this wine is strictly limited by the amount of old, massal selected Pinot Noir in one village- Mareuil-sur-Ay, that Billecart has access to. It is this tiny villages best produce that makes the red wine that gives this nectar its color, bouquet and timeless elegance. I like the wine best as an aperitif, the only thing it need to pair with is a good glass.

This is as delicious as I have always remembered. Wild strawberry tartness, juicy peach, hibiscus petals florals, and finishing with a soft mousse of red berries. There is a reason this is our top-selling rose Champagne it is just so delightful to drink.

Often imitated, seldom replicated, and in this day and age when little is left that you can rely on, Billecart Salmon Rose is the old friend you can trust. Made with a nearly traditional blend of champagne's greatest grapes, this wine pulses with life and makes a heady companion to poached salmon, grilled langoustine or even a rich and fatty tuna tartare.

The Billecart Rosé is the epitome of the grace and craft that we have come to associate with champagne. Its rich fruit profile of strawberries, cherries and cream is complemented by subtle notes of herbs and a touch of salinity, and the power of the fruit is hoisted effortlessly on the finish by mineral and acidity. This is our best selling rosé for a good reason.

It's baaaack! After many moons, our beloved Billecart-Salmon Brut Rose has returned. As always, very peachy and stone-fruited, with ripe raspberry and blood orange accents. Delicate, creamy, and floral. No wonder it is so popular!

You just can't go wrong with classic Rose from Billecart-Salmon! It's one of the most prettiest, perfectly balanced and elegant expressions of Rose Champagne. With bright raspberry and barberry aromas and flavors with a hint of white peach it's almost ethereal in its profile. No wonder it is crowd pleasing and one of the ultimate favorites among the staff here and customers.

Mathieu Billecart calls this their "Princess of Rosé," as it comes from their younger vineyards, and the young lively vines impart a nice freshness. 40% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir, and 30% Pinot Meunier. An ethereal pink color, with a nose of fresh strawberries and white blossom. It shows juicy berry fruit on the palate. Delicious! It's one of our most popular rosé Champagnes for good reason: it's incredibly easy to drink.

Don't take my word for it. Don't take everyone else's word for it. Try Billecart-Salmon's Brut Rosé and see why it's consistently touted as the creme de la creme. It's subtly full of rosewater complexity and aromatics that dance out of the glass. It's instantly appreciable. It's consistent. This is a slightly bolder style than most rose champagne, due to the red wine added, but it's still pretty enough to be on its own, and merits the attention.

A wine shop's best friend-- the Billecart Salmon Rose consistently defends its title as one of the best-selling products (not just within champagne) in any wine store. It is composed of all premier cru grapes-- 40% Pinot Noir, 40 Chardonnay and 20 Pinot Meunier, but the pretty light red hue comes not from controlled skin contact with the red grapes, but rather by blending Pinot Noir fully vinified red with the rest of the blend that sees zero skin contact. This Pinot Noir comes exclusively from one very old plot, meaning that the overall production of this wine is strictly capped. The result is a wonderfully complex nose with some earth as well as very elegant red fruit.

There is a reason the Billecart Salmon rose is one of the top selling rose's in the store. The darker pink color comes from the Premier Cru Pinot Noir grapes that also impart the wonderful aromas and flavors of sweet cherry and strawberry. A polished style champagne with a long finish filled with summer berries!

Billecart Salmon is one of the most consistent and ever reliably great rose Champagnes. A constant favorite with customers and staff alike, it's hard to find fault with anything about this one. Richly bold and lovely red fruit flavors dominate this true classic.

The wine that Billecart is probably most well-known for is their rose and it's done very well. I usually choose blanc de blanc, or blanc de noir when I'm getting my bubbles on. Mostly because I tend to feel that rose' sparklers need a bit more time, after popping that top, to open up, and I just really don't have time to wait when I'm trying to celebrate! Get in my glass, and "get in mah belleh", to quote a favorite actor of mine. This needs no extra time to blow off the funk that can sit in the glass for a bit. It's pretty, fresh, and crisp, right from the start. High toned bright fruit really make this a fresh, lifted, wine to toast to any great occasion. Although it's quite dry, it still shines through with a nice measure of sweetness from the fruit. This is the sparkling rose to beat!

This sets the bar for spectacular brut rosé! It’s hard to gush about Billecart-Salmon without feeling like you’re piggybacking on critical accolades or following popular opinion, but this best-selling Champagne is worth the hype. Gorgeous rose petal and delicate white peach on the nose, followed by pure strawberry fruit gleaming through the palate, this showcases Billecart-Salmon’s bright style while adding the sophistication of mousse texture and a minerally finish. There’s freshness throughout, plus substance – this would be a great wine to pair with heartier meals like fried chicken, although its elegance makes a glass equally at home with caviar. Tiny creamy bubbles and lovely color only enhance the drinking experience, and cooler, longer fermentation in stainless steel (3-5 weeks!) keeps everything crisp. Billecart-Salmon uses all three big Champagne varietals: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and curiously, more Pinot Meunier than most houses. They have traditionally championed Meunier and the result is a delicate, nuanced wine with depth. Perfect for any occasion, even if that occasion is a weeknight spent on an apartment balcony, Billecart-Salmon Brut Rosé Champagne is reliably special.
