The 1975 Taylor's Vintage Port is mature in color, lighter on the nose than either the 1970 or 1977 with wild strawberry, cherry, pencil lead and sawdust. No, it is not complex, but it is clean and fresh. The medium-bodied is more driven by fruit than other vintages and lacks a little structure, yet there is an attractive smooth texture. (NM) (6/2018)
This house must certainly be the Latour of Portugal. Their ports are remarkably backward yet still impressive when young. Of all the vintage ports, those of Taylor need the longest time to mature and even when fully mature seem to have an inner strength and firmness that keep them going for decades. (RP) (1/1989)
